I write frequently about the fact that Trump is violating the Bill of Rights every day. The second amendment is the only one out of 10 that he supports because the NRA gun lobby orders him to. However, the shredding of the Bill of Rights did not begin with Trump, he is simply escalating its demise.
As Republicans began to morph into a group of right-wing extremists, they decided to ignore the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. Their most obvious attacks are on the first and fourth amendments. For more than 40 years they have expressed their belief in fascism through actions which violate the Law of the Land.
Here are the first and fourth amendments for your inspection.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
The very beginning of the first amendment is of great concern to all real Americans who remain loyal to the nation of our founding fathers. The right to practice a religion of your choice or none at all is critical to a free and just United States of America. Religion for the purpose of personal gain and corrupt governments are the greatest dangers to democracy.
The authors of the Constitution left England for several reasons. One of the most important occurred when King George III declared that the protestant Anglican Church would be the official and only religion of England, Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, and the others left for the free world.
Contrary to the fallacious claims of fake-Christians in America, nearly all of our founding fathers were Deists.
Deism: “Deism is the philosophical position that rejects revelation as a source of religious knowledge and asserts that reason and observation of the natural world are sufficient to establish the existence of a Supreme Being or creator of the universe.”
In general, they believed that the universe was created by a supernatural being, but that he or she was probably deceased, or if he or she was alive, this creature was not interested in the daily lives of humans and did not attempt to contact them.
Today’s Republican Party in name only supports the Christian Religious Right to acquire votes. Trump, Moscow Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Grassley and the others do not believe in a God. They lie to us constantly and although they promise to support all Americans when running for election, they abandon that promise after election day. Supporting a single religion is a word for word violation of the first amendment. Trump and his party have divided our nation to a level not seen since the Civil War.
With every instance when Trump opens his mouth or taps with his thumbs, he is denying the right of a free press and the rights of all Americans who do not agree with him to have an opinion. Constitutional violation.
After July of 2016, the right-wing attempted to prevent the rights of Americans to protest their government. Trump is immoral, a fascist, a sexist, a homophobe, and a xenophobe. He will continue to receive protests wherever he goes. The man-child in the White House is not an American. His party supports him without question and are also considered anti-Americans by Constitutional scholars.
After the cowardly slaughter of innocent Americans on September 11, 2001, a Republican-controlled government hurried to pass the “Patriot Act.” This law and its added provisions are a direct violation of the fourth amendment. Privacy and human rights are controlled by a corrupt government today.
Our dysfunctional government exists in an atmosphere of secrecy, and this is a fourth amendment violation. This country belongs to us, not the politicians. Censorship in the service of “national security” is a lie. We have the right to know everything about every member of our elected government.
If you believe as I do that the Constitution of the United States of America is the most important document ever written, you cannot support today’s Republicans in name only. They do not believe in our country and that includes the guarantees of your freedoms promised by the Bill of Rights.
November 3rd is coming soon.
