251 Right-Wing Politicians in Washington, but only One Republican

The House did the right thing; they did their job. With an enormous amount of hard evidence Donald John Trump was formally impeached on December 18, 2019. The charges were “abuse of power,” and “obstruction of Congress.” His trial in the senate began on January 16, 2020.

The Republican controlled senate refused to allow new evidence or a single witness. The sham ended on February 5, 2020 as all right-wing senators voted to acquit Trump, with the exception of the lone true Republican, Mitt Romney.

The Senator from Utah found Donald John Trump guilty. The following are a few words from his statement explaining his decision. The full text will be attached to this article.

[The defense argues that the Senate should leave the impeachment decision to the voters. While that logic is appealing to our democratic instincts, it is inconsistent with the Constitution’s requirement that the Senate, not the voters, try the president. Hamilton explained that the Founders’ decision to invest senators with this obligation rather than leave it to voters was intended to minimize—to the extent possible—the partisan sentiments of the public.

This verdict is ours to render. The people will judge us for how well and faithfully we fulfilled our duty. The grave question the Constitution tasks senators to answer is whether the President committed an act so extreme and egregious that it rises to the level of a “high crime and misdemeanor.”

 Yes, he did.

The President asked a foreign government to investigate his political rival.

The President withheld vital military funds from that government to press it to do so.

The President delayed funds for an American ally at war with Russian invaders.

The President’s purpose was personal and political.

Accordingly, the President is guilty of an appalling abuse of the public trust.]

Trump was livid, and attacked the only Republican in the senate for keeping his oath office.

This weekend Trump attacked the senator once again. This time it was for another reason; another action which demonstrated his patriotism and love for the American people. One reporter tweeted the following.

.”@MittRomney is marching with a group of nearly 1,000 Christians to the White House. Here he is on video saying why he’s walking:  “to make sure that people understand that Black Lives Matter”

“Tremendous sincerity, what a guy,” Trump tweeted Monday morning. “Hard to believe, with this kind of political talent, his numbers would ‘tank’ so badly in Utah!

First, a week ago Trumped marched “at” the marchers, not with them as they were attacked with rubber bullets and tear gas canisters.

Second, Trump should not discuss poll numbers. His continue to crash. It began with his failure to lead our nation in the battle against Covid-19, and fell even lower as he failed to lead our nation with compassion and understanding when protests related to the death of George Floyd began in all 50 states.

Time for real change; time to vote for yourself and not right-wing politicians who serve special interests and ignore the American people.
