Focusing on Trump’s Lack of Morals, a Man without Principles, or his Mental Incompetence won’t Win the Election

Baby Trump

For once Democratic strategists have the right plan to win the 2020 election. In 2016 every American knew that Trump was a racist, a sexual predator, a crude man without a moral compass, but his voters didn’t care. They shared his beliefs about the baser issues in America.

The target group is Independents who are intelligent and concerned about the issues; something Trump is incapable of discussing. Although the number is likely much higher, Independents compose over 29 percent of all registered voters; slightly more that Republicans. However, although I have been an Independent my entire life, I registered as a Democrat in 2000 in opposition to the ambitions of George W. Bush. I remain labeled as a Democrat today. If the people elected our president, and not the states, my candidate has won every election since 1992 with the exception of Bush 43’s reelection in 2004.

Independent Voters

I vote for the candidate who supports my beliefs as closely as possible. I lean to the left politically, and since 1980 all Republican presidential candidates have opposed or ignored the working class, minorities, women, and Americans living below the poverty line.

Democrat’s central issue will be current in November. Covid-19 remains in its first phase in America, and thanks to Trump’s failure to lead is escalating in the number of current cases. It is highly likely that the coronavirus will continue to be a danger to American lives in November.

This, combined with the protests, which began after the murder of George Floyd, and the exposure of the fact that Trump ignored Russia’s efforts to place a bounty on American soldiers in Afghanistan, which he was first made aware of in March of 2019, gave us three reasons to convince all Americans that Trump cannot lead our nation.

He has refused to talk to the American people about one of these crises. The bottom line, the issue, is leadership. Giving the future of our nation to a man who is mentally incompetent is unforgivable.

Political organizations supporting Democrats created focus groups in multiple areas of America long before the pandemic reached our shores. They discovered the biggest concerns of Independents and groups of Democrats who are sometimes lethargic about going to the polls. This is what they learned.

“One thing we saw in polling a lot before the coronavirus outbreak is that people didn’t think he was a strong leader or a good leader, they complained about his Twitter,” said Nick Ahamed, analytics director at Priorities USA. “But they had a hard time connecting those character flaws they saw in him with their day-to-day experience.”

Trump’s constant claims that the coronavirus would “just go away,” or that “it will end in April with warmer weather,” were far from the actions which would be taken by a leader. Although Trump first knew that a major healthcare crisis was probable in January, he waited until mid-March to take any action, and then it was “too little, too late.”

The few ads I have heard from Joe Biden’s campaign concern leadership. He tells the American people what he would have done in the same situation which faced Trump.

The current polls reveal the enormous difference between the two men, and how only one of them is qualified to lead a nation of 330 million people. Overall, Biden is leading by 12 points
