Will Trump be Tried in a New York Court after he is Evicted from the White House?

Just hours ago the Supreme Court of the United States made a decision about who could subpoena Trump’s financial records, including his tax returns. Although they denied congress the ability to discover whether or not your illegitimate president is a crook, they did grant the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office access by a vote of 7-2. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion.

“In our judicial system, ‘the public has a right to every man’s evidence.’ Since the earliest days of the Republic, ‘every man’ has included the President of the United States,” Roberts wrote in the New York case.

The situation in New York involves the investigation of “ Trump’s longtime accounting firm, Mazars, for a wide variety of Trump’s personal and business records, including tax returns, dating back to 2011.”

Few Americans are aware that the tradition of presidential candidates revealing their tax returns began with Richard Nixon. Until Trump refused to allow the American people to know if his personal finances were the result of legal or illegal practices, every would-be president followed Nixon’s lead.

Once Trump’s financial records are part of the evidentiary record in New York, congress will have access to that information.

Questions about his finances include, “how rich is he;” “who is invested in his personal business;” and “have his many outstanding loans been legally obtained?”

Trump has never been considered ‘respectable’ by the business community.
