Two Views of Donald Trump

Vile Man

I just read an article, which will be attached at the end of this article. Its title is “I Like Donald Trump, But I Don’t Think He Can Win A General Election.” The author is John Hawkins. He has met Trump several times, read his books and believes in his abilities. His main reasons for supporting Trump are his “willingness to take on issues ignored by the Republican Party, his lack of political correctness and the real genius he has for identifying important issues other candidates aren’t talking about and bringing them to the forefront are nothing short of amazing.”

There is a great deal of truth in what Mr. Hawkins says; the other passengers in the clown car do not have a license to drive, and have no opinions about how to address the most important issues facing our nation.

I have a somewhat different opinion of Trump. My biggest fear involves jihadist extremists and their plans for increased terrorism. Trump has no understanding of the deep-seeded goals of ISIS or al-Qaeda.

Although all GOP candidates fail to understand the situation, Trump has been the most vocal in his denouncement of all Muslims. Where he fails in his rhetoric is demonstrated by his lack of knowledge pertaining to the long-term ambitions of these evil groups who use religion as a pretext for their own ambitions.

Far too many Americans believe that the leaders of terrorist groups are little more than ignorant ‘desert dwellers;’ that is a very dangerous assumption. ISIS and al-Qaeda leaders are fully aware that they cannot conquer the world by themselves. Their true goal is a ‘holy war’ between the west and the billions of followers of Islam. If they can convince Muslims that a war has begun against all followers of Muhammad, they will have an insurmountable army. And the GOP, led by Trump, is not smart enough to see this as fact.

My second complaint about Trump is that he does not believe in the principles of our founding fathers, and would violate or repeal our Constitution. His actions and words have proven that he does not believe in the first amendment. He denies the rights of all religions other than Christianity; he refuses to allow freedom of speech as he has demonstrated by having dissenters removed from his rallies; and he only respects members of the media who agree with him or fail to ask direct questions.

Like all members of the GOP, he supports his version of the second amendment and denies the right to safety for the majority over those of special interests.

In addition to the first amendment, he would repeal the fourth, fifth, fourteenth and fifteenth; they do not fit into his idea of America.

Our nation is a nation of immigrants; our natural born residents compose less than two-percent of our population. The President of the United States must represent all of the people of our once great nation; he or she is not allowed to ‘pick and choose.’ The leader of the free world cannot be a racist, bigot, or believe that women have but a single purpose in society.

My greatest fear is that ‘I don’t like Donald Trump, but I believe he might be able to win the election.’
